Many bloggers make attempts at monetizing their blogs. Sometimes it can be difficult to get started. Does your blog generate income? If so, what are some of the different steps you took to start generating income through your blog? If your blog does not generate income, have you tried and failed or have you not started yet?
I use adhitz, and other affiliate sites like linkshare and shareasale.com. I have yet to generate a nice income. I would like to have more info on this. kingbraswell@blackconvo.info

I've been making $ online since 2009. It is one of the reasons I created http://www.paythebillsandmore.com to discuss this very subject as well as feature legit work at home/telecommute jobs. I make money from google adsense and affiliate programs. Google doesn't want exact numbers shared but I earn more than $100.00 per day on one main site (www.jetatl.com) and my two new ones (just started this year) are making small amounts every day.
@Jaie, I'm from Georgia and I've seen your site before. It looks like a great resource for Atlanta job seekers. Do you have any advice for other bloggers and website owners looking to monetize their sites?

Hi Jennifer,
have you set up your Google Adsense account yet? If so, what issues are you having? If not, what questions do you have about the process?

Thank you Jessica. I did the site myself 3 years ago when I was first learning - it is in desparate need of a re-do but I don't want to JINX It! Lol!
I recently attended a Google Adsense in your City Event and met some REALLY Heavy Hitters in income generation. I met the guy who Bravo got the idea to do extreme couponing - he makes over 100K per month - and all of them said the same thing! TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC and having a blog subject that you can grow an audience with. For me jobs was a no brainer - I already had the contract to manage the Concessions Employment Office at the airport - and back in 2008 I began to explore all methods in which I could get the enormous amounts of foot traffic out of the airport and take it online. I too explored all free info and just learned. After a few months of the site being up - I realized folks were making money online and that is when I added adense and some commission junction affiliate links. I remember waking up the next day after adding the adsense code and I had made $3.00. I was super excited - my son thought I was nutz...but what he didn't get was I was SLEEP when I made it.
I think getting involved locally is a great idea for blog promotion. Sure you can do the social media, put ads on craigslist (depending on topic), etc. - but I have had success just in talking to local people for promotion. Once Hartsfield Jackson endorsed me on their site - everything soared from there (the site has also been announced on the news as the source for concessions jobs at the airport a couple of times).
My pay the bills site is about 5 months old and I am constantly thinking of new ideas to promote it - but it's not doing too bad because I cross reference it on JETATL as our work at home/telecommute extension site. So I get a lot of JETATL traffic.
As Te-Erika says below - the best way is to learn from the best - ALL the names she has listed - I also took this training several years ago. Dale doesn't do the challenge anymore - but the training is still up and available at this link: http://challenge.co/training/
Jessica I would love to get together since we are both in ATL. Let me know. I was a little disappointed that at the adsense event I was the only PERSON of color and ONE of only 3 women. They just announced other events coming and they are coming to ATL in August. I just googled it and did not find a general announcment. I have a message about it in my adsense back-end and will share the link (not sure if it will work) if anyone wants to know more.
