My blogging income mainly comes from affiliate links. One article in particular is very popular among writers, people google it all the time. The information I give in the article is priceless and therefore when I recommend a product I love at the end of the article, people trust me and buy it.
@ Te-Erika Patterson: I also have an affiliate account that I have just started using. So far no hits though. I am hoping to have some come through. I am hoping to make some more. But if your affiliate makes you money what exactly do you do? You just sell your articleand then you have money continuously?

I've been making $ online since 2009. It is one of the reasons I created http://www.paythebillsandmore.com to discuss this very subject as well as feature legit work at home/telecommute jobs. I make money from google adsense and affiliate programs. Google doesn't want exact numbers shared but I earn more than $100.00 per day on one main site (www.jetatl.com) and my two new ones (just started this year) are making small amounts every day.
@ Jaie
Bensonn: would you mind doing an interview or guest blog post on my blog? I could give you the address if you are interested.

Since my blog is getting more attention, I should start monetizing it. I know google adsense is on Blogger, but is it on Wordpress. I have heard of it before, but I didn't try it when I was on blogger because I was worried that the ads would not fit my blog. But yes I am interested in ways to monetize. I'll definitely look into some of the sites everyone mentioned. -Sherese Francis futuristicallyancient.com svfreebird87@gmail.com
@ Sherese Francis: I have a wordpress blog and you can't use Google Adsense on it. They have Survey Monkey. And I believe the Key does it too. But their stats program does it too- monitors who is on your blog. But it doesn't make you money though. Try Amazon affiliate or Barnes and Noble affilate. I am also going to email this man from his post he looks good. try him too um.. kingbraswell@blackconvo.info. maybe he can help us both. but i think u would have to buy your blog to use adsense or move it to like webs. and i dont know the one that webs uses. u can try it out.

@Sherese Wordpress.com does not allow google adsense. But they have implemented a new program called WordAds that you can sign up for. If you are excepted in the program, Wordpress.com will place ads on your site and you will be compensated whenever someone cicks on an ad. However, if you buy your own hosting and use Wordpress.org instead, you will have the freedom to place any ads you want on it, including google adsense.
Here is more information about WordAds:

Right now my blog makes enough money to pay for itself (hosting, domains, theme, etc). I get lots of stuff for our dogs - my office is jammed with items to review, but that doesn't translate to cash. I'm now getting advertising inquiries from companies and have a social media/advertising kit that I update with new stats monthy. What helped me the most was working with a marketing coach. I found one that works with pet businesses and she was tremendously helpful.
You know what? After reading this comment, I will go ahead and monetize my blog.

So I had been debating starting another site (which makes this number 3) and after reading everyone's post, I started one. I have posted a total of 3 or 4 articles. I included the amazon affiliate links on the site and I have already gotten 3 purchases. Needless to say I am hooked, but also I have learned a lot since losing my job 2 years ago and so I am sharing with others what I learned and how I got started with my own business, what worked and what didn't, etc. I am definitely trying to learn as much about affiliate mareketing as possible.
Good for you!!! You are an inspiration to me, a new blogger.
I know it was heartbreaking to lose your job 2 years ago, but you found your silver lining in a dark cloud.

Yes it was heartbreaking. I thought I was finally working my dream job but I was reminded of a business plan that I had written a few years prior doing relatively the same type of work on my own. So I dusted that business plan off. Blogging helped me process the transition and my new blog, I hope will inspire others to take the step towards self employment. There are definitely a lot of opportunities with blogging.
